Editing / FCPx

We used the program Final Cut Pro X. Its basically the best program ever written. Hands down, no arguments.

There are many programs that can do more or even better than final cut pro. But when you work on a time consuming movie project, you want to be able to edit, color grade, and add effects with a short learning curve.

You want results quickly, and with final cut pro it is so easy to compose entire scene.

Whats even more important, you don't need super powerful computers, to work with your film clips. The entire movie was actually created on a mac mini (i7 version). Which is by itself a miracle. Consider complex scenes, consider special effects and all color gradings. The idea that you can do all of that on basically a lap top processor (which is what you have in the mac mini), then we are impressed with the little devil.
But it is all due to great programming.

With Final Cut pro (which we obviously from this experience can recommend) we could deliver this movie and all the teasers in much higher standard than you would expect from such a simple program and computer.

In the honest opinion of ours, as film makers, the special effects do a lot, and the acting, and the props. But proper editing is the key ingredients for a good movie. Editing is what truly creates the movie experience.

It is the backbone of a long work process, where you have to put together all you have worked with.
